Skilled employment experience
Work experience must be in your nominated skilled occupation, or a closely related occupation, within the last 10 years. To be counted, work must be:
• At least 20 hours per week — casual or part-time work below this threshold does not count.
• Paid employment — voluntary or unpaid work cannot be claimed.
• Combined cap of 20 points — overseas and Australian experience together cannot exceed 20 points. The calculator applies this cap automatically.
